patchVantage, launched at OpenWorld 2016, adds fast ‘Snap Cloning’ software that dramatically reduces storage demands

The software, which can be on – premise or Cloud – based, is simple to use; there is no need for specialist DBA skills. These enterprise – class features are extremely competitively priced, on a subscription basis.
The new features comprise fully automated Database thin cloning, creation, backup, and recovery. Built upon Oracle’s storage – agnostic open source NFS the new feature lets database users create multiple copies in minutes without consuming additional space. The HTML5 web interface makes using the tools very simple, and they can be accessed from anywhere.
A huge Database can be cloned in minutes; CERN (the European Centre for Nuclear Research), uses this approach for databases that are over 100TB.
Cloning is the key enabling technology underpinning migration to the Cloud; patchVantage makes cloning easy by automating much of the process and maintaining a comprehensive audit trail for both RDBMS and E – Business Suite. It is quick and simple to install, can be accessed from anywhere, and generates full log files, greatly reducing management overheads.
